If you happen to be reading this from a negative-edge saltwater pool in Costa Rica right now, feel free to skip the rest and get back to everything you’re not doing.

For everyone else...

Feel free to do as they’re doing at Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas, an adults-only paradise of a Costa Rican resort, now taking reservations for a February 10 opening and looking identical to this.

Yes, February 10. That’s when you’ll come on down here and stay at this beautifully minimalist spread overlooking the ocean, the Guanacaste coast and islands they share. When you’ll take a deep breath of rain forest air from an ocean kayak and a swallow of something tropical and boozy come sunset. When you’ll go to sleep in your private villa on the early side.

Right. About that...

See, on the 11th, the resort is having a huge triathlon and open-water race. The former is a somewhat brutal circuit by kayak, mountain bike and foot made incredibly beautiful by the totally encompassing natural gorgeousness around you. The latter involves 1,600- and 3,200-meter swims.

But a slow lap around the pool before a drink works just fine, too.
