Next weekend is a massive one for stoners, as the annually recognized smoke-out known as 4/20 returns on Friday. To make sure you're not far from a toke (or a Cypress Hill set), we've rounded up some of the nation's more engaging pot parties. There's still plenty of time to buy tickets. In fact, go ahead and take a nap if you need and get back to this later.
The Official 420 Rally, Denver: A massive—maybe even the massivest—free 4/20 event featuring concerts and up to ten thousand people, this festival is said to have its own Pigpen-like cloud of smoke perpetually hanging over it. Apr 20, no cover
National Cannabis Festival, Washington D.C.: Going down on April 21 in our nation’s capital, this celebration comes with a side of activism, as attendees eat, drink, watch Cypress Hill, pitch their entrepreneurial cannabis ideas to a Shark Tank-like board and make funny signs that taunt Jeff Sessions. Presumably. Apr 21, 12-8pm, $42
Sweetwater Fest, 420, Atlanta: This three day festival find acts like Sturgill Simpson and the String Cheese Incident playing for a crowd of extremely stoned, ever genteel, Southerners. Apr 20-22, $66-$392
420 Roll It Up, Las Vegas: You bring the legal weed to this outdoor jam, they’ll bring the Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Baby Bash and Bone Thugs. Seems fair. Apr 20, $49-$217
4/20 Waldos Forever Fest, Chicago: This is a large, Chicago block-party full of DJs and bands, food and fun in a tribute to the original stoners known as "the Waldos" who coined the term “420.” Apr 20, 10am-9pm, no cover with RSVP
So-Cal Cannabis Cup, San Bernardino: Your chance to rate today’s leading marijuana strains in a battle for supremacy and a fancy cup. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Nas are scheduled to appear, too. We really hope they’re not bothered by all the smoke. April 20, $45-$420
Disco Dining Club, Los Angeles: This riotous, immersive LA dinner party is throwing a fete on April 21st styled after Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights. There will be wonderful food, super trippy sights and professional cannabis pairings. Apr 21, 5pm-12am, $150
4/20 BAYKED by the Bay, San Diego: Imagine a San Diego waterfront party with Wyclef Jean playing and no shortage of munchies from 12 restaurants, all to benefit the Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego. Which bodes well for baked Chihuahua encounters. Apr 20, $35-$80
The Ganja Goddess Getaway, Bay Area: This is a 3-day, all-women glamping expedition that includes cannabis of every variety (dabs, edibles, vapes, blunts, bongs) and a perpetual giant buffet. There’s also yoga, swimming, belly dancing, trot, painting, drum circles and a whole bunch of other stuff that sounds fun to do while being very stoned in nature. Apr 20-Apr 22, $420, Bay Area
