Because there’s no way you were already
interested in taking a few days off to stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Lake Tahoe,
the hotel has decided to up the luxury ante and seduce you with the Lake
Club. It’s pretty much what it sounds like, but also not, given most lake clubs don’t look anywhere
as spectacular as this (slideshow here).
Unfortunately or not—let’s go with “not”—you’ll have to be a guest at the resort stay here. Just
consider it an added perk on top of the championship golf course access, slope-side spa and in-room
fireplaces. Okay? Okay.
How you’ll make use of this place is mostly up to you. We’d recommend starting on the upper deck, a Mai
Tai in hand, gazing out across the lake, taking a deep breath and allowing yourself to feel completely free
and relaxed for the first time in God knows how long. But hey, that’s just us.
Of course, you can also grab some steak or salmon from the grill and head down to the 2,000-square-foot lawn
creeping out from the water’s edge, listen to the waves crash onto shore...you know, that kind of
thing.
And if you’re feeling up to it, take advantage of the private pier and direct beach access to charter a
yacht or go water skiing. If you’re feeling less up to it, though, you can always hang back and hit the
outdoor jacuzzi.
Sometimes it pays to hang back.
