An Asian-French Pop-Up Downtown

As chance has it, the Bon Me food truck and Cambridge’s new bastion for French yum-yums, West Bridge, have paired up for a pop-up experience on the Greenway. Tickets should sell out, so if four courses of still-secret fusion-ness (hint: expect crostini) and by-request picnic blankets are your idea of after-work fun: go.

Tickets available now for Aug 29, 5-9pm, $15, Rings Fountain on the Greenway, tickets here

BREAKING BAD

The Area’s First Burger Truck

Speaking of food trucks, the time has come to add one more to your Twitter feed of internal-combustion-engine-based mobile eats around the city (and on occasion, Norwood): Boston’s Baddest Burger & Sandwich Co. We’ll give you two guesses as to what their specialties are. Whoa... good guesses.

Coffee and Burritos Under One Roof
STRANGE PAIR

Coffee and Burritos Under One Roof

Okay, so you’ve discovered your GPS-navigating skills have led you astray in Cambridge and suddenly plopped you out in Belmont (the next town over). Don’t be incredibly afraid. Now there’s coffee-and-Mexican-roll-up saviors Café Burrito, a burrito and java house like no other in that area. Seriously. They’re the only one.

Milking White Russians from Fake Cows
YEE-HAW

Milking White Russians from Fake Cows

Your Saturday evenings involve [REDACTED]. Your Saturday evening this week: country night at Kings. Think: mechanical bulls, fake-cow milking competitions (spewing White Russians, naturally) and country-ish food and drinks, like infused sweet teas and a lot of corn-bean salad concoctions. Tip: give Rascal Flatts’ catalog a once-over before you arrive.

Aug 18, 8pm-2am, no cover, cash bar, Kings Boston, 50 Dalton St, 617-266-2695

A Party with Travel Implications

Alert: for three hours on Wednesday, Wakefield-based exotic excursion facilitators Off the Grid are throwing a little fiesta. Involved: gratis travel-themed food (red curry tenderloin sliders, Moroccan grilled chicken) and $200 off any 2013 trip you plan with them. Which is $200 more to spend on in-flight liquor.
