“I could sure go for a flat white and a meat pie, mate” is something you might say in Australia. Or in the South End, if you happen to be at the new Cuppacoffee location that’s now open in the Troy building. You don’t have to say “mate.”
You’ve been there. You’re in a liquor store, about to acquire some type of delicious spirit, when an insatiable desire for hot dogs overtakes you. Haven’t been there? Huh. Well, there’s an honest-to-God hot dog stand called Rubi’s inside Huntington Wine & Spirits now anyway.
Townsman does brunch now. It only happens on the last Saturday of each month, but it’ll have cinnamon bun grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken-fried steak and chili-brine Bloody Marys. Which is probably why it only happens on the last Saturday of each month.
JM Curley’s also finally doing brunch, but only on Mondays. It’s called “Cold Tea” and it will feature fried pickles and croque monsieur tea sandwiches alongside the L’Orange Julius with bourbon, OJ, vanilla and a whole egg. So Mondays are going to go ahead and be sick days.
Kirkland Tap & Trotter is currently going through its terrible twos. But it’s okay, because that involves a party with a whole suckling pig roast, tacos, eight tap lines of Smuttynose and live music from Dub Apocalypse. Dub Armageddon were busy.
