The weekend went that-a-way.
Your Perks: 1) Dress socks. So many colorful dress socks, we stopped counting. 2) Handbags from a little label called Prada. Perhaps you know someone who might like one. 3) All the juices you need to close out summer in a strong, healthy, fruit-and-vegetable-forward way.
Two things. Both tiki things.
1) Brass Union is breaking out the torches and totem poles for a luau-themed patio soiree
that most definitely involves pork cheek skewers and rum.
2) The Boston Shaker’s taking 25% off all their tiki gear through Labor Day.
Tiki sale: only a matter of time.
It’s late. You’re on your last round at Aeronaut. You think about how great it would be if Tasting Counter were open to feed you miso-cured-duck sandwiches and stuffed crispy rice from a new no-reservations-required late-night menu. They must have read your inner monologue.
This is a story about a cocktail bar that never had a patio. Then it had one. Then you showed up to it and whiled away the evening with lamb skewers and whiskey sours. Happy endings. They’re out there.
Shojo’s turning three, and they’re marking the occasion with a block party that includes:
—Live break dancing.
—Stoked pizza.
—Classic martial arts videos.
—The unveiling of their new mural.
—A raffle for a pair of James Young’s game sneakers.
Yeah, Shojo’s going through a phase.
You’re still not over Hungry Mother. But perhaps you’d feel better if its sign were hanging in your living room. Great, because turns out, everything’s for sale—antiques, artwork by the owner, a draft beer tower. There’s also a cocktail party involved. As if it weren’t already hard enough to say goodbye.
