Pretend Olympics, Real Booze

Poe's Kitchen turns into a virtual Vancouver tonight as it hosts the first-ever Wii Olympics. You can compete by signing up at the door, with bottles of tequila (think gold, silver and reposado) going to overall Wii champs, gratis apps from Poe being passed and a giant ice luge on the roof deck for shots. Just like Ohno does 'em.

Feb 25, 6-9pm, $10 door, Poe's Kitchen, 384 Boylston St, 617-859-7772

"Fenway in February" Bash at Game On

With baseball season seemingly an aeon away, Game On is throwing a "Fenway in February" party on Saturday—featuring DJ'ed tunes, a classic Sox game on the TVs, opening-day ticket giveaways, $4 drafts and $5 oyster shooters (frozen shot glasses with an oyster, Harpoon IPA and cocktail sauce). Don't get those and your Jägers confused.

The Newest Takedown in Town: Lamb

Forget chili. Lamb is the flavor of the moment, and here to trumpet its arrival is the Lamb Takedown at the Middle East this Sunday. Twenty cooks utilizing 15 pounds of shank, shoulder, leg and ground lamb will put their secret recipes to the test. Vote on your favorites, or relinquish your democratic rights and just stuff yourself silly. Up to you.

All-You-Can-Eat Amuse-Bouche

Bokx 109 is starting an hour of all-you-can-eat amuse-bouche (a fancy way of saying bite-size apps) on Wednesday, featuring tasty morsels like Lobster Pot Pie and Tuna Crudo, with a complimentary glass of wine to wash them down. Best of all, it's free. You've always wanted a single bite of lobster pot pie.
