The weekend rarely meets a bikini it doesn’t like.
This week we’re spiking your next PB&J with some bourbon (or tequila, or champagne), courtesy of the artisanal jam makers/boozehounds at the Jam Stand. And we took the liberty of booking you a posh room and dinner for two at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Napa Valley. We know you too well.
Maximizing Newport time is crucial this time of year. So is drinking copious amounts of wine from producers from all over the world, while feasting on food from over 17 chefs (OM, Rocca, MET Bar). Thus, we give you the Newport Wine Fest. Feel free to arrive via dinghy.
Then again, you may be in less of a “three-day wine blowout on the ocean” mood and more of a “show me hot models in bikinis at a nightclub” kind of mood. Oh hey, look at that: Cure is throwing a bikini fashion show tomorrow night. No, you don’t have to arrive in a Speedo. But you could.
Good: Area Four doing a one-day pop-up bakery at the Rogues Gallery store in P-town. Better: Quit Mad Stop launching a new line of waxed canvas swim trunks there the same day. Best: a scone and a coffee before catching the breaks in your new gear.
Sunday. A day of rest. And by rest, we of course mean sitting on a swanky patio while feasting on a whole roast pig, along with all the requisite sides (corn on the cob, potato salad) and beers from the Maine Beer Company. You may now begin drooling.
Tuesdays. Not so much a day of rest. But who cares, since Zocalo is throwing a little end-of-summer bash. For $25 you’ll land everything from their house margaritas to sangria and small bites (guacamole, tacos), while drinking in the scene on their patio. And more margaritas.
