The weekend is already looking ahead to 2012.
Normally, your post-work tastings involve delicately sampling beer, wine and whiskey. Well, tonight will be no different. But if you feel like adding a touch of France, Brix in the FiDi will be pouring gratis bubbly and sparkling wine for two hours. Call it pre-NYE toasting.
New Year’s Eve is great when the soundtrack you party to is your normal mix of Top 40. Then there are the parties that pull in a killer live funk and soul band to dance to while sampling from Mediterranean-inspired hors d’oeuvres and a dessert buffet. The time to feel the afro-soul is now.
NYE partying presents many dilemmas. One of which is whether or not to don a full zoot suit. Well, it won’t be out of place at the Prohibition NYE bash at Noir, where there’ll be era-correct cocktails, a free overnight stay at the Charles Hotel for the best dressed and loads of Boardwalk Empire quoting.
You could head to one spot to throw down for NYE. Perfectly respectable. Or you could sample the scene at six different bashes (namely, Stoddard’s, Rumor, Venu, Gypsy, Cure Lounge and District). Between the live DJs at every spot, balloon drops and a vast mix of throngs of revelers, we’re guessing you’ll find your sweet spot quickly.
We’re not saying you’ll regret not partying with circus acrobats on NYE, but we’re not saying you won’t, either. Royale’s circus theme will include aerialists flipping around while you dance, the largest balloon drop in New England and a gratis Red Bull and champagne cocktail toast at midnight. Feel free to share yours with a contortionist.
