The weekend is dancing on a pole.

Considering we only get four or five months a year to sail, you want to jump on any chance for an afternoon on the sea. Piers Park Sailing Center is kicking off the season on Saturday with free sailing, live music, gratis slices of pizza from A&L Bakery and all the Fenway Franks, sausages and brats you can eat. Leave them until after sailing, though.
It's been a long week. So Felt is bringing in a bunch of poles for pro pole dancers to square off against students and amateurs for a night. Local pole-dancing instructors will lead it off, followed by performances from beginners to the World Champion Pole Dancer, Pantera Blacksmith from Seattle. You've been meaning to see her in person.
Weekends are for getting together with friends, meeting new friends and sometimes—just sometimes—stomping around downtown for 12 hours with throngs of revelers dressed like pirates. Saturday's eye-patch-laden pub crawl includes a 90-minute booze cruise in Boston Harbor, and Red Sox tickets to the best pirate costume. Watch out for scurvy.
Nothing goes better with a beer than something salty. But after that, something sweet. Proving this: Finale, which is throwing a lavishly rich tasting on Monday featuring five brews with five desserts. Think Hennepin Belgian beer with crème brûlée, PA's Nugget Nectar with Finale cheesecake and a 9% Canadian beer with chocolate cake. You deserve this.
