And '80s movie sports montage now:
There's you.
Eating wings outdoors on a nice patio.
Undergoing a Spartan training regimen for your big giant Jenga bout.
Raising your fists triumphantly over a draft Mule.
You're the best—the best at Trophy Wife, the classic sports bar Silver Lake may have always needed, opening tonight from the owners who brought you Bandito's, Barbarella and Sandbox.
There's a lot of Cheers-ian potential in this neighborhood jewel spread across the hillside corner where Hyperion meets Evans Street. You'll enter through a backyard patio under dangling bulbs and an abstract mural. Soon that will be chock-full of lawn games.
Then you'll advance into this idyllic, long lost wedge of a local with electric neon bouncing off hundreds of cast-off trophies. You'll be able to watch basically any game you're interested in here. Dodgers. Lakers. Rams. Others. They have all the packages and more TVs than anyone we can think of within a couple of miles.
You can even make a solid date night out of a visit to this stretch of Silver Lake now. Watch the Dodgers dominate over wings and a Boomtown IPA or Afternoon Delight (mezcal, avocado, lime, grapefruit, soda, agave). Then head down to Mi Corazón for dinner before doing drinks next door at the Friend.
Then you'll come back to take advantage of the generous whiskey cache here for your nightcap. That will go down at the bar bearing the photos of notorious trophy wives ripped from celebrity magazines.
You may recognize some of them from Bristol Farms.
