You haven’t seen it rain like that in forever.
You’ve also never seen Matt Molina make tacos and burgers.
These are strange and wonderful times, and here’s a damn fine neighborhood bar called E.R.B., opening Friday in Downtown’s Arts District from the owners of Silverlake Wine. (Take a look.)
Open an orange door beside the Everson Royce Bar plaque. You’ll see a long chamber that’s half glowing bottles above a white marble bar and half leather booths sprinkled with shiny wood and neon. You’ll think something like “Nice bar,” and you’ll be right.
You know they know wine and beer. Lots of good stuff on draft here. But prioritize. Because Varnish/Soho House vet Chris Ojeda is also tempting you with Southsides (gin, mint, lemon). And there’s some rare Old Fitzgerald and Port Ellen hanging over your head. Life’s funny sometimes.
Though, it’s not all agonizing decisions. You can pop in after midnight seven nights a week and still get former Mozza chef Matt Molina’s prime cheddar burgers, smoky potato tacos and pork belly bao before heading to the back patio for bocce.
See. The agony went away.
