Aaron Levine is known for his work reviving Abercrombie and designing clothes for heavy-hitters like Madewell and Vince.
He's also curated collections for Drake's and designed products for Huckberry.
So whether or not you knew it, the man's probably influenced items that are already in your closet.
Now he's branched out on his own with his first self-titled label.
Aaron Levine New York has launched with a tight selection of fall/winter essentials. A few shirts, a few pants, a couple jackets — all carefully considered and nothing extraneous. Products are designed in a Brooklyn studio and crafted in American factories, and that American-made sensibility comes out in the clothes.
A simple crewneck tee is made from substantial, 5.6-ounce North Carolina cotton and available in five colors. The 10.5-ounce fleece cotton sweatshirt comes in three colors and hits just below the waist for a clean and classic look.
There are Oxford shirts, western shirts and flannels, all made to last and offering thoughtful details like mother of pearl buttons or Portuguese two-ply fabric.
Sweaters and cardigans are made from Merino wool with horn buttons, and pants range from a travel-focused drawstring option to rugged cargos and workwear canvas.
The collection also includes a couple jackets and a vest, and one suit — a bespoke number that requires in-person fittings at the brand's Booklyn atelier.
There's not a lot of anything, but everything is high-quality and functional, so you don't have to overthink it. And soon, the brand will put out more items for the spring. Clear a little room in your closet.
