Sitting on the ground is a lot better when you’re occupying some handsome green space. Like the new park that just opened at the Shops at Park Lane. There they’ll host movie screenings, live music and yoga classes. You can also just lie in the grass with a nice sandwich.
The new TJ’s at Preston and Royal just opened their patio, which means you can now eat Peruvian-style ceviche and fish tacos while enjoying the fresh air. Go ahead, breathe it in. There you go. Good. Keep doing that. Forever.
Texas Ale Project has been open for a couple months now. But Saturday, they grand open. And that means several hours of drinking good beers, listening to live music and eating food that came from a truck. A food truck. Not, like, someone’s pickup.
Your best option: playing hooky from work on Monday. But a really solid backup plan is seeing Ferris Bueller’s Day Off at the Granada on Sunday. They’re showing it on their really big screen, and serving $3 beers and shots for some added 1980s authenticity. Or just because they’re nice.
For good coffee, go to Method. That one’s easy. But for french toast, frittatas and espresso-rubbed pulled pork... well, also go to Method. Because they’re serving the occasional brunch now. That’s good. Cuts down on your commute.
