Things to do for May 08, 2014

The Weekender

Crawfish and Tacos and Movies in the Park

Great weekends think alike.

Thursday
Let’s Talk Tacos. Then, Let’s Eat Them.
TACO THE TOWN

Let’s Talk Tacos. Then, Let’s Eat Them.

Cinco de Mayo is over, but no one told these guys. Because Four Corners is hosting local taco expert José R. Ralat for an enlightening discussion on the glorious food. You can expect taco stories, taco history and, yes, taco eating. Also, beer. There will be beer. Brewery and all.

Saturday
A Full Day of Crawfish and Beer
RAGIN’ CAJUN

A Full Day of Crawfish and Beer

If you like: a) all-you-can-eat crawfish, corn and potatoes, b) cold beers and/or c) live music, then you’re probably going to enjoy Boil for the Brave. Because it’s combining all three into four hours of good times at the Foundry. That’s some favorable math.

Watching Bogart on the Lawn
SLEEP WELL

Watching Bogart on the Lawn

On Saturday night, grab a blanket and someone who looks good on a blanket, then head to Klyde Warren Park. That’s where you’ll proceed to unpack your flask and look toward the projector screen ahead. It’s showing The Big Sleep, the Raymond Chandler/Humphrey Bogart classic that’s more exciting than it sounds.

Tuesday
Sangria for $1.10. Sure.
INTO THE FIRE

Sangria for $1.10. Sure.

It’s been 10 years since Fireside Pies first graced Henderson Ave. To celebrate, swing by any of their Dallas-area locations this Tuesday, and let them shower you with $10 pizzas and $1.10 sangria. It’s literally the least you could do.

May 13, Fireside Pies, 2820 N Henderson Ave, 214-370-3916, and other area locations
