Finding good seafood around town: easy.
Cuban food: we’ve got that in spades.
Burgers and beer: not a problem.
A solid plate of masala shrimp and lamb kebabs...
Right.
Related: here comes A Passage to India, a pop-up supper club that’s ready to supply you with your yearly quota of naan and marinated lamb, taking reservations now for October 3 to November 3 at the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove.
So... India. It’s a country. Excels at the whole sari and Bollywood thing. More importantly, it’s the country that inspired this whole temporary affair. That affair being an exotic pop-up restaurant helmed by the Ritz’s Indian-born executive chef. So, you know, legit.
What you should expect: low-lit iron lanterns and jeweled parasols hanging from the ceiling. Also: billowing multicolored curtains and gold-beaded pillows designed to resemble a night in a maharaja’s tent. Also also: an evening with a date who doesn’t hate stuff like lamb with Kashmiri chilies and turmeric-spiked lentil soup.
So plan ahead. Make a reservation. Maybe aim for the last day, when they’ll be pulling out all the stops for India’s festival of lights.
Might want to pack some shades.
