Your Guide to Weekday Power Brunching

Brunch shouldn’t be relegated to just weekends. It’s blasphemy, really. Because occasionally... it’s a weekday. And you have a lunch meeting lined up. And you’d like some vodka mixed with tomato juice. Below: five places to weekday power brunch over something bacon-and-egg-like. Like bacon and eggs.

Rosebud
THE COMFORT BRUNCH

Rosebud

When you feel like throwing around executive decisions, you... don’t think Rosebud. But they’ve got weekday brunch now, so why the hell not. Pancakes doused in strawberry-thyme butter. Chicken-egg-and-bacon sandwiches. Rum-and-Kahlúa-spiked iced coffees. They’re all at your disposal. And so the three-Bloody lunch was born.

Alma Cocina
THE MEXICAN BRUNCH

Alma Cocina

To the naked eye, you’re meeting for a nice Mexican lunch. But if you know what to order, you’re clearly brunching. Hence your order of huevos rancheros or steak and eggs. And an off-menu Bloody Mary. They’ll whip something up using housemade hot sauces. Probably a Bloody Mary.

Bistro Niko
THE FRENCH BRUNCH

Bistro Niko

It’s just you, some Francophile and the last in a series of afternoon meetings. You’ll need a Café Americain (to stay sharp), a quiche with comté de gruyère (to stay classy) and a sunny-side-egg-topped ham sandwich (to stay... whatever. That’s just delicious).

Bone’s
THE STEAKHOUSE BRUNCH

Bone’s

When you bring clients to Bone’s in the afternoon, yes, steak will be there. They’ll have steak. But they’ll also have grilled ham that’s been glazed with maple and made into cheese sandwiches. Also, hash browns and Bloodys. Double-also, a good excuse to point and laugh at everyone who ordered steak.

Bone’s, 3130 Piedmont Rd NE, 404-237-2663

The Hil
THE GAMBLERS BRUNCH

The Hil

First, drive to Serenbe with an associate on a Thursday or Friday. Then drink a mimosa and ask for the weekend brunch menu. If they’re equipped to make you a fried-egg sandwich and some waffles that day, they will. If not, drink another mimosa and chalk it up to a gambling loss.
