Downtown can be a lonely place when you want some coffee (that isn’t Starbucks). So you’ll be happy to know there’s a new caffeine dealer called Stupid Good Coffee. Inside this wood-slatted café, they’re serving up espressos, iced coffees and fruit smoothies. Caffeine, mangos, same thing.
Lots happening at the Joule these days. The latest: a new shop by way of LA called TenOverSix. It’s stocked full of stuff for the fairer sex, and the attached gift shop has lots of... gifts (think sunglasses and duffels). You probably know someone who enjoys those.
Tonight, J. Black’s turns 3. More importantly, they’re throwing themselves a party. So after work, head on over for gratis cocktails, gratis bar snacks and a DJ. He’s also complimentary. Well, for you. Hopefully, somebody’s paying him. But that’s not your problem.
The Fort Worth Music Fest is this weekend. And what’s in store: bands, of course (the Walkmen, Delta Spirit, Old 97’s). Also: barbecue, pizza and an abundance of summer shorts and tan lines. What more do you need... Oh, right, beer. Fine, they’ll have beer.
If you’re into drinking things that other people painstakingly concocted in their kitchens/garages, then you’ll probably like this. Because on Sunday, Bishop Arts will be overflowing with homebrewers. Your job: sample as many beers as possible before levying judgment on the best. As far as jobs go, this one’s not bad.
