There’s a party tonight. Just thought you’d like to know. That is, assuming you’re still into food trucks (Tutta’s Pizza, Belgian Waffle Co.), local beer (Peticolas, Lakewood) and live music. Plus stuff from area vendors, like custom hip flasks and things made from bike chains. Between the two, we’d go hip flask.

Up tonight: The Birds. Grab a beer, grab some popcorn and plant yourself outside. Where everything’s an aisle seat.
Hey. We’ve got news for you. It concerns pork tacos/enchiladas and how now you’ve got even more options for eating them. So, it’s good news. The place is called Soleo, it just opened on Hillcrest, and it’s stuffed with tortas, carne asada and margaritas. Plus a burger, but don’t be that guy.
You know TJ’s. Fresh fish. Loads of shrimp. Nowhere to sit. Well, that last one’s changing. Because their new spot on Oak Lawn’s got tables, chairs and counter service. So that fish you just bought: now it’s yours to eat. Right away. Instant gratification is good. Especially dipped in tartar sauce.
You’ve had some good times at Sundown. Definitely some nice dinners. And plenty of rooftop beers. But you’ve never once had brisket benedict there at 11am on a Saturday. Unconscionable, we know.
