Imagine Woodstock. Now, imagine Woodstock but for tacos. That’s Tacopalooza. Some of the city’s best seasoned beef and corn tortilla purveyors (Velvet Taco, Rusty Taco and Shooters) have gathered at Bryan Street Tavern for this momentous occasion. Also, Samuel Caldwell’s Revenge will be on stage to perform. Expect peace, love and shredded lettuce.
Jockey silks: dry-cleaned. Trifecta bet: placed. Stupid hat: avoided. Now, for your watch party... Sissy’s. They’ll be pouring mint juleps and Kentucky punch (like Hawaiian, but punchier). We suggest arriving early and claiming a seat in their scotch room. Think of it like a more velvety grandstand.
So, yes, it’s going to be a pretty big drinking weekend. Which means, come Sunday, you’re going to require both brunch and Advil. Here to help with the former: Oak.
