The Weekender
Turkey, Massages and Breaking a World Record
The weekend makes a mean corn bread sausage stuffing.
Wednesday
Thursday
A Record-Breaking Turkey Run
This Thursday, you’re rewriting the record books. Also, dressing like a wild bird. Because at the Turkey Trot 5K, they’re putting together the largest gathering of humans in turkey costumes. Your attire: a headpiece, tail feathers and maybe some kind of webbed running shoe.
A Gratis Thanksgiving Meal at Norma’s
Cooking. Giving. And lots and lots of family time. It’s all happening tomorrow. But just in case you and Grandma need a break, Norma’s will be serving up a gratis Thanksgiving meal, replete with cranberries and rolls and pecan pie. Oh, right: there’s turkey, too.
Friday
How to Relax on Black Friday
Black Friday: stressful. Here’s what you do. Head to the Ritz spa, maybe get a massage, then pick up some spa products, apparel, candles and home decor for 50% off. Note: technically, the massage part is optional.
Lights, Hot Chocolate and a Carriage
Nothing says fail-proof date like a carriage and Christmas lights. This Friday you and up to 11 carriage-worthy guests can be pulled through Highland Park. Tip: you can spike your hot chocolate as long as the cup has a lid. Tip 2: make sure your cup has a lid.
Wednesday
Partying with a Room Full of Mustaches
Hotel ZaZa’s celebrating the last day of Movember with a mustache-friendly blowout. (By mustache-friendly we mean there’s vodka and a DJ.) You can lose the ’stache at their straight-razor shave booth. Or jump on the massive rocking horse for a “mustache ride.” And by rocking horse we mean a rocking horse.
