The Weekender

Gratis Brunch, Ping-Pong and Running with Leprechauns

The weekend is a sleeper to win it all.

GOING GREEN

A 5K with Beer and Leprechauns

St. Pat’s has you focused on one thing: running 3.2 miles. So Saturday, you’ll head to Lovers and Greenville, where you’ll jog with runners dressed as leprechauns while volunteers line the course handing out water. (Also: beer.) There’s an after-party with live music, too—don’t forget to stretch.

Green Beer and Bands at the Idle Rich
IDLE HANDS

Green Beer and Bands at the Idle Rich

If you end up braving the Saturday bar scene, we have two suggestions: 1) wear your green ascot, and 2) head to the Idle Rich. They’re putting a tent in their parking lot, where you’ll sample shepherd’s pie and wash it down with the Whiskey Folk Ramblers. (Yes, that’s a band.)

Sunday
Gratis Brunch and $1 Mimosas
BOTTOMLESS

Gratis Brunch and $1 Mimosas

You’re selective about your brunch spots. Three Sheets gets this. So on Sunday, they’re serving a gratis brunch menu including omelets and chicken salad platters. Oh, and they’re pouring mimosas for a dollar. This is the equivalent of a brunch spot putting its number in your pocket.

Mar 13, 11am-3pm, Three Sheets, 3113 Ross Ave, 214-823-3113

Your Selection Show Happy Hour
HOOP IT UP

Your Selection Show Happy Hour

Your Bracketology seminar: outlined. Gus Johnson: clearing his throat. The tournament: almost here. So Brackets is hosting a happy hour during the selection show, with drafts and pizzas for half off. If you ask nicely, maybe they’ll play “One Shining Moment” after you win at pong.

Mar 13, 3-7pm, Brackets, 5330 E Mockingbird Ln #100, 214-823-0123
