So far, the year is shaping up to be a great one.
The weather—perfect. The streets—Kardashian-free. And the Miami Heat have been on a triumphant tear.
So it’s time to take your sports-watching game to the next level. We’re thinking a 25-foot screen. Fancy leather couches. Plenty of wine and cocktails.
Say hello to Backlot Bar, what you can consider your luxury courtside seats, except with more pinot and the option of sneaking off to a screening of Tron, now open at the Paragon in the Grove.
Tucked away on the third floor of the Paragon Theaters at CocoWalk, the lounge feels a little like a billionaire’s personal screening room, replete with red walls, pop art and racks of wine flanking the bar. If you’re going to one of the movies playing at the theater, you can stop in here before or after for glasses of Malbec and platters of prosciutto and salami (you can also bring the drinks and food with you into the theater).
And if you’re interested in something a bit more intimate, there’s a cushy leather screening room attached to the lounge, where they’ll be screening Heat games and classic movies for free on a rotating basis. Tonight’s 7pm showing is that iconic mafia film GoodFellas, while next week you’ll be able to catch Scarface.
Suggested pairing: something red.
