When you need tequila, you really. Need. Tequila.
A wall of it so high, the bartenders need a rolling library ladder to reach the good stuff. Tequila in shots. Tequila in flights. Tequila in Cucumber Jalapeño Margaritas.
We understand. Really, we do. And so we hereby direct you to Agave Tequila House y Cantina, opening Friday in Los Feliz.
If you're an Eastsider, you know the spot—it was most recently known as Cuba de Oro, and before that, well…about 57 other places. But we've got a good feeling about this one, since they finally realized what was missing this whole time—a tequila selection about 200 labels deep.
The skylight-topped main room's littered with giant agave plants, and the view of that tequila wall isn't bad, but you'll probably want to make yourself comfortable at a table on the front sidewalk. Before long, you might get some comely Vermont dog-walkers involved in your next round.
The La Familia option gets you five shots of house favorites for $28. La Chupacabra is a shot of silver and a beer. Or you could try the infusions—maybe the Agave Loco Pepper-Cured Tequila. And if it's happy hour (every day from 3-7pm), you'll likely be washing it all down with some gratis food. They're thinking maybe quesadillas.
Or just a huge, edible sponge.
