Cooking hotdogs over an open flame is the platonic ideal of a camp dinner.
Until it's your third straight night eating hot dogs. And you're desperately missing a few at-home comforts, like an actual work station.
And the ability to control temperatures.
Avoid that scenario entirely with the Kitchen Cruiser. It's a portable kitchen that was born from a collaborative effort by Cinch and Wildland, a couple of companies known for their tents and outdoor gear. It's available to pre-order now at a discount, and units are expected to start shipping as early as next month.
The Kitchen Cruiser transforms from a compact, portable box into a full-fledged kitchen, complete with prep areas, cooking stations, cleaning facilities and storage drawers to keep your utensils, knives and cutting boards. The design includes a running water system with a sink basin, a battery-powered faucet and a gas stove, all things that go a long way toward making real food outdoors.
When packed up, the kitchen is about the size of a small cooler and fits easily inside a car. The body is made from durable space-grade aluminum, the whole thing weighs 43 pounds, and there's a handle on top, so carrying this to and fro is a reasonable enough task for one person. Once set up and unfurled atop its reinforced legs, it measures about three feet tall and four feet wide.
Connect a propane tank to use the gas burner, and you're just a few minutes away from perfectly cooked burgers, steaks, vegetables and whatever else you like to eat around a campfire.
That fire will still be there, should you require s'mores for dessert.
