Tiny speakers these days are great for telling you the weather or adding something to your Amazon shopping cart.

But they tend to lack oomph in the actual sound department.

So when you want rich, hi-fidelity audio, nothing beats a quality speaker featuring a powerful driver and built-in amplifier.

If it happens to be wireless and look like a work of art, even better.

The new Marantz Horizon series comes from the 70-year-old audio brand best known for its amps and receivers. Now, they've created luxury speakers that you'll want to show off, not hide behind a plant.

You've got two options: Horizon and Grand Horizon. Both are on the website now with all the photos and details you need, and they will become available to purchase in January.

Both Horizon and Grand Horizon quickly and accurately amplify audio signals for a better listening experience, and the six internal drivers use neodymium magnets to put out powerful, distortion-free sound. A ring of 100 LEDs light up as you approach and also display and can be used to adjust the volume.

The Grand Horizon adds "Mirage" to the mix. It's an in-house digital signal processing algorithm that helps to create a pristine sound that extends far beyond the physical boundaries of the speaker itself.

Whichever route you go, the speakers are available in three colors — Midnight Sky, Moon Ray and Champagne — so you can opt for the design that best complements your space.

Place the speakers on your surface of choice, or throw in the corresponding tripod for a more prominent display. It's made from American walnut wood and cast iron with a satin black finish, and it not only looks great but is designed to achieve the ideal listening height.

Which, apparently, is a thing.
