Shopping and carbo loading.
Based on no scientific data whatsoever, there's a direct connection between the two.
First, the epic Italian food hall Casa Tua Cucina lands at Brickell City Centre.
Then, La Centrale does the same.
Now, Serafina, the famed New York restro, is set to open Wednesday at Aventura Mall.
Not sure what to make of the combo? We suggest deeply pondering it over a plate of something starchy from the world's leading boot-shaped country—say, something from here. Specifically, at Serafina.
Head here when shopping fatigue kicks in. Walking in, you'll note the space's Instagram-worthiness. Among the tan woods and signature pops of yellow and blue, find glowing neon angel wings (serafina means angel in Italian) and someone to take a photo of you standing in front of them. There's also an illuminated hallway leading to the J.Lo-themed men's room and David Beckham-themed ladies room. A little heteronormative, but amusing nonetheless.
But before you ponder the bathrooms, hit the bar. It's both indoor and out, for optimal fresh air-basking. Nab a Vittorio Tea with tequila, grapefruit sherbet and tea. Sip. Feel refreshed. Then, move to an outdoor table just past the living plant wall boasting an Italian countryside vibe.
Oh, and there's food. Italian food. Meatballs with ricotta food. Another path to temptation is paved with the filet mignon burger with mozzarella, gorgonzola, avocado and caramelized onions. Select whichever will afford you enough space to enjoy the tiramisu.
Another great Italian carb.
