If there's one thing our city is known for, it's bagels.
Wait, no.
No, that's not right at all.
Guess we'll just have to get our bagels imported from NYC then.
Which is exactly what's happening at the Board, your new destination for breakfast and lunch sandwiches from the guy behind Deli Board and 1058 Hoagie, which opens Thursday in SoMa and, yes, outsources its bagel arm to our friends on the other coast. Check it out.
You and the lucky work people you chose to bring along will enter this open-kitchen'd sandwichery, noticing the subway tiles, deco pendant lamps and the fact that you're all getting really good at noticing things.
After patting yourselves on the back, approach the counter to check out an ever-rotating menu that'll be the result of constant experimentation in the kitchen. You'll be enticed by the likes of a Board cheeseteak with white American cheese, cherry peppers and Board sauce on an amoroso roll. Or, say, by the Haba Dog with habanero-infused sauerkraut and brown mustard.
But if you're more of a breakfast person, they've got you covered with build-your-own options from the cheese to the "Fillins" (sausage patty, bacon, avocado) to the bread. Why, of course one of those breads is an NYC everything bagel.
No word on whether or not New York is importing fog yet.
