It's nearly summer here, as you know, and that means you can finally go on a beach date.
Then, once you're brutally reminded how cold our beaches are, you can retreat back inside for a dinner date.
Here. Preferably here.
At Pearl, the new spot from the Pizzetta 211 team opening Tuesday just next door to it in a former drugstore and dry cleaner. Check it out.
By the time you and that date arrive, the central bar will already be humming, dishing out oysters and cocktails to happy people who are in the process of making good life decisions. Hey, you should join them.
Your date will have a Farewell to Spring with amara rossa, imbue, citrus and prosecco. You'll have the Pearl Martini with sea gin. Or you'll both get whatever you want. We don't know.
Regardless, your banquette along the wall will be waiting in a room that might remind you of a modern apothecary. When pressed on this, you'll blame the sea gin and start pursuing some of the other sea items they're offering. Will you try the handmade Handkerchief pasta with white Bolognese? The grilled gulf prawns with farrotto verde, preserved lemon and mascarpone? No wrong turns here, so knock yourself out.
And when it's warmer, make sure to come back and grab a table outside. It's heated and they'll offer you a blanket, of course.
We said "warmer," not "warm."
