A Miniature Holiday Village Made Almost Entirely of Chocolate

Chocolate Ferris Wheel. Chocolate Train. Chocolate Grinch. Chocolate Everything.

The gingerbread house is the staple of Christmastime food architecture—the A-frame, if you will, of Instagrammable holiday edifices. So we hope you’re not angry with us when we say: the gingerbread house has found its match. Or superior.

Introducing: the chocolate holiday village at Moon Palace Cancun. More than a single house, it’s an entire miniature magical town made (almost) entirely of chocolate—one ton and $10,000-worth, to be exact.

Since you may not make it to Cancun in time to see it in person, we’ve shared some photos for you to revel in below. Take note of the chocolate fountains surrounding the village. And the chocolate toy train. And the meticulously crafted chocolate chimneys. And the giant chocolate Grinch. And the lit-up chocolate Ferris wheel, with carnival-style chocolate swings.

Then get yourself a piece of non-holiday-village chocolate to eat for yourself, because this is goddamn chocolate torture.
