This is the story of Toy Soldier, a new restaurant and microbrewery on Belden Place that opens early next week.
It's mostly a story about burgers, beer and tequila.
It's a good story.
You'll wander in with friends one day soon in search of sustenance and immediately be faced with three options: downstairs at the bar for a casual bite, upstairs for a more refined dining experience, or out on the patio for whatever the hell feels right at the time.
Oh, you went with the patio. Strong play. In that case, you'll be led through some brewing diagrams and military-themed miscellany to your table outside, where you'll (maybe) enjoy the weather and be faced with a new plethora of choices.
Maybe go for the fried chicken. Perhaps a cheeseburger with bacon and mustard aioli. Then again, this could be a good time for something a little lighter like the baked mac and cheese with short rib and truffle oil. You're such a health nut.
Either way, you'll definitely want to pair everything with an onsite-brewed Toy Soldier IPA or one of their 20 military-themed cocktails like the Storm the Beach with tequila, lemon and lime juice, muddled ginger and wasabi paste.
You've been meaning to drink more wasabi.
