There’s a new pop-up restaurant on the rooftop of the 1 Hotel called Prey. And the James Beard Award–nominated chef behind it has promised to hunt, dive and forage for everything you see on the menu. Like the feral roasted pig. And the carp ribs. Carp ribs? Carp ribs.
Another weekend, another pool party. Life’s tough, we know. Spike Mendelsohn’s hosting this one with a bunch of other chefs, and they’ll be competing against each other in things like raft relay races and pool treasure hunts while you drink drinks and eat things. Stay strong.
Normally, nightclubs open at... night. But this Friday afternoon, DJ Penguin Prison will be manning the decks for a lunch dance party where you’ll get a gratis cocktail and a prepacked lunch to take with you. Sorry we had to say the words “DJ Penguin Prison” back there.
Well, here’s a great reason to go to the Markowicz Fine Art gallery: David Bowie. You’ll find a bunch of never-before-seen photos of the Thin White Duke there that were shot by fashion photographer Markus Klinko. You can even grab a few for yourself if you’re so inclined. If. Ha.
The Ritz-Carlton is relaunching their massive Sunday brunch with all of the usual suspects—carving stations, mounds of seafood, bubbly. But now, you’ll also find a farmers’ market there with fresh produce and other local things that you can take home. They’ll put a farmers’ market anywhere these days.
