Stop us if you’ve heard this one: Chrome Yellow Trading Co.
Oh, you have. Fair enough.
What about this one? Chrome Yellow Trading Co. has some shiny new digs that involve Stumptown coffee on one side and a bunch of nice clothes on the other. It’s soft-opening tomorrow, it looks exactly like this, and our game is over now.
You know these guys. They used to sell wearable things in Buckhead. Then on the Westside. Then they drank a bunch of coffee, had an idea and made you this new place in the Old Fourth Ward.
On the coffee shop side: a handful of tables, white cinder blocks and subway tiles, and a small four-seater bar. All fine places to sit and watch your milk being frothed and your nitro coffee cascading out of the tap like some kind of caffeinated waterfall.
If you’re in a hurry, grab an almond croissant from H&F Bread and a bottled cold-press from Stumptown (they do all the coffee here).
But just beyond the open-framed wall is a hallway leading back to the retail shop. Come Saturday, it’ll be ready with things like Rogue Territory work jackets, denim, Western selvage shirts and candles that burn for 100 hours.
The candles just sort of showed up.
