The year: 2014.
The month: February.
The event in question: Knot Standard graced Dallas with a little cottage of custom wearables. You made an appointment, flipped through some fabrics and were on your way to a bespoke suit.
Fast-forward to... right this very second, and Knot Standard is back with a just-opened retail space on Henderson.
And here you’re dealing with 1,500 square feet of brick walls, big mirrors and well-dressed mannequins. You can still make an appointment, or just walk in whenever it’s convenient.
They’re offering a few accessories you can take home with you. But you’re mostly here for custom jobs. So take a seat at one of those wooden tables and work your way through the books filled with 5,000 fabrics. Which, yes, is a lot of fabrics. But they’ll help you whittle down your options to something navy blue and nailhead. Or gray and windowpane. Or something else that’s particularly agreeable.
Then choose your lapels, cuffs, buttons... basically everything that’ll ensure you’re not wearing the exact same thing as every other guy in town.
Then give it about a month, and your new suit, sport coat, pants and shirts will be shipped to your door.
Still no tank tops.
