This has nothing to do with Thanksgiving.
Unless you’re attending some kind of stuffy dinner that requires you wear a shirt.
In that case, you should really check out the new J. Hilburn Showroom. It’s an attractive mecca of shirts, sport coats and just so many swatches, and it’s open now on West Mockingbird. (See the slideshow here.)
You might be familiar with these guys and their roving band of tape-measure-equipped stylists. Make an in-home appointment, get measured, and a couple weeks later: custom shirt. They still do all that.
But here they’ve got a real looker of a space that’s stocked with ready-to-wear garmentry like plaid button-downs, wool blazers, pants, ties and the like. Very convenient if you’re not one for waiting.
But if you’re still in the market for something custom, by all means. Swing on by. Grab a glass of whiskey from the bar (there’s a bar) and run through a one-on-one session. You’ll get thoroughly measured. You’ll fondle a few fabrics and choose your patterns. You’ll talk lapels and buttons and cuffs. It’s your suit/shirt/other, so really make it your own.
Everyone needs a good other.
