A True Dim Sum Game Changer

Some said those were the two most beautiful words in the English language.

This was before Koi Palace opened.

And now there’s the mellifluousness of Dragon Beaux—it just kind of rolls right off the tongue, it’s a dim sum/hot pot place from the Koi Palace empire, and it’s soft-open now in the Outer Richmond. Here’s what it looks like as a slideshow.

Expected keywords that factor in here: Cherry blossoms, wooden screens, weekend lines, pork bao, soup dumplings, shumai, shabu-shabu.

Unexpected keywords that also factor in here: LED planets, purple sofas, Ame wine guy, squid-ink dumplings, Szechuan stew, frog legs.

Further extrapolation on the “LED planets” part: Well, you’ll see. The chandelier kind of looks like it’s made of LED planets.

A slightly less anticlimactic extrapolation upon the “pork bao/soup dumpling” part: The traditional part of the menu’s shaved down from the Koi Palace epic. Something around 100 of those. But there’s some unexpected stuff to throw in, too, like those squid-ink dumplings.

Reasons you might not want to come here soon and then again shortly thereafter: Just went squid-ink-free, dating someone who is morally opposed to tabletop cooking, caught in a bear trap.
