Top Chef’s Mike Isabella is making dinner for you tonight. Real nice of him. And he’ll be tag teaming with the Social Club’s Blair Wilson to put out a Mediterranean spread with whole spit-roasted lamb and grilled seafood, along with some spiked libations by the pool. That’s not your cue to wear swim briefs.
When bars fly south for the winter, they bring tiki drinks. No, really. Just ask the barkeeps from NYC’s NoMad bar. They’ll be slinging a few rum-laced beauties next to Rob Ferrara this weekend. And Sunday, they’ll be joined by some cigars and a Cuban steel drum performance. Because, again, rum.
Exciting things going down at the Edition. The bowling balls with nude women are still happening downstairs. But upstairs: a weekly Jamaican/Hawaiian barbecue at Tropicale. With Jamaican macaroni and cheese, grilled lobster tails and gratis beer for anyone wearing a Hawaiian button-down. Magnum, P.I., be thy muse.
Tough decision to make on Sunday. Watch the Oscars at home. Which... sure. Or watch them in your car. Yep, Blue Starlite is screening them over in the Coconut Grove lot and offering drink specials from the neighboring Taurus whiskey bar along with Oscars trivia. Like we said, tough decision.
