As yesterday proved, strategic thinking is critical.
One wrong move and... you might not be enjoying wine and duck cassoulet later this week, and the world might laugh at you.
Just... go here, is what we’re saying, okay?
You’ll know it when you see it at Sous Beurre Kitchen, a homey French-food-and-French-wine spot in the Mission, slated to open Thursday. (Here’s the menu and this is the slideshow.)
Before, this place was a pop-up from a Waterbar alum. Now, it’s a cozy café/restaurant that looks like an unassuming neighborhood spot, in France, with mismatched antique mirrors, heirloom china and marble tables.
The point of all that info in the last paragraph: this place is a good place for a date. Doesn’t matter where on the date timeline this one falls. Just stop us when something doesn’t sound date-friendly here:
You can do Negronis or vermouth-cilantro mojitos at the bar.
You can sit down, get a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and share some plates—pork cassoulet or whole roasted game hen, or just sit back and do a five-course tasting, with rabbit rillettes tartine and bone marrow French onion soup.
You didn’t stop us.
