It’s been too long since you’ve had eggnog—okay, no, you’re probably having some right now. But what you need to have is this: Area 31’s take on the Cuban version using coconut cream, condensed milk, rum and homemade dulce de leche—all mixed sans egg. You’ll be okay, really.
Life in Color. It’s a massive party. In Sun Life Stadium (see: massive). With aerialists. And fire shows. Also, DJs spinning while cannons blast gallons of paint all over everyone. Maybe just buy a new shirt afterward.
Porfirio’s is doing the brunch thing now. Every Sunday. Where you’ll find mole poblano chicken, slow-roasted pork and simmering pots of tortilla soup being continuously rolled out, alongside a steady stream of micheladas and mimosas. What you won’t find: people who hate excessive brunches.
In frozen-dessert news: One of Argentina’s classic gelaterias has made its way to Lincoln
Road with pressed ice cream sandwiches using Hawaiian rolls. Challenge accepted.
In beer news: The Riverside Market crew has opened up Fort Lauderdale’s first brew supply
shop and new home of Native Brewing. Prost accordingly.
