Things to do for October 22, 2014

The Weekender

Baijiu Cocktails, Pig-Trotter Pizza and Indian Dancers

If you’re the weekend and you know it, clap your hands.

Thursday
Josh’s Deli Does Dinner. Rejoice.
NEW DELI

Josh’s Deli Does Dinner. Rejoice.

Tomorrow. That’s when Josh’s will finally grace us with some decent dinner hours. It’s strictly pizza on Thursdays—stuff like bone marrow and pig-trotter pies. But come Friday, you’ll have full run of Josh’s deli mashups, like pastrami tartare and lobster knishes. Man cannot live on lunch hours alone.

Thu-Sun, 5:30-9:30pm, Josh’s Deli, 9517 Harding Ave, Surfside, 305-397-8494

A Night in India. Sort Of.
DIWALI WORLD

A Night in India. Sort Of.

Sultry candles and lanterns: check. Chicken tikka masala: check. Sexy Indian dancers: definite check. Yep, the Ritz is all set to throw down a serious Diwali soiree. That’s the Indian festival of lights, incidentally. And you can join them tomorrow. Maybe with a date. Maybe not. Your call, really.

Sunday
Poolside Time Warping. It’s a Thing.
LET’S BE FRANK

Poolside Time Warping. It’s a Thing.

In case you missed the memo, Halloween is next week. But the Standard thought it’d jog your memory with a poolside screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and a few beers. Beer’s good like that.

Late-Night Dancing at the Triple A
NOWHERE TO HYDE

Late-Night Dancing at the Triple A

True: Hyde at the Triple A is open to the public this Sunday.
False: The Heat dancers are doubling as flair bartenders.
True: Jump Smokers will be DJing the affair.
False: Dwyane Wade is one of the Jump Smokers.

Glad we could clear a few things up here.

Tuesday
Thirty Years of Dim Sum
TROPICAL THUNDER

Thirty Years of Dim Sum

Thirty years ago, this was a dim-sum-barren land. Then came Tropical Chinese, and all was right. And this Tuesday, they’re throwing a party to celebrate that occasion. Big stuff. Dim sum, music and, oh yeah, a new 20-foot bar serving up gratis Byejoe cocktails. Better to give, and all.
