You go to a bar. Peruse your options. Order a tasting flight.
Nothing much to see here.
Well, except it’s a tasting flight of caviar.
Here it is, the California Caviar Company Tasting Room, now open and taking reservations for—yes—caviar tasting flights in Sausalito.
First, you need to call or email them for a reservation, and you need to start thinking deep caviar thoughts.
Then you’re ready for your spot at the long marble bar in the bright, pendant-lit room. A cork will make an audible exit from a bottle.
Then you just have to decide on one of three tasting options. The Silver is a tasting of four varieties, the Gold is six, and the Platinum is... a more expensive six. (That last option is $1,000.) And according to the owner, you’ve never tasted caviar properly if you haven’t had it off your hand. So we’re sure you’ll get along just fine.
And obviously, if you taste something you like, you can buy whatever you want to take home.
Your hand’s probably coming along regardless.
