This slender hideout’s got a more modern look than the Franklin Village original—think steel counters, wavy woods and gleaming concrete. But it’s still like a 7-Eleven for anyone who’s said the words “organic,” “meatless,” “I support the KCRW pledge drive” or “After last night, I’ll only survive if I get caffeine and a Baaadasss sandwich immediately.”
If that last one was you, start your day here with an espresso and one of those sandwiches—sort of like a meatless McMuffin, with chipotle and maple syrup. It’s all going to be okay.
Or come lunchtime, drop by for a turkey Reuben or yellowfin tuna melt (all sandwiches can be veganized, FYI) with a banana-sunflower-butter-cacao Elvis smoothie for the road. And while you wait, pick up some organic wine (coming soon), energy bars, vegan condoms and earth-friendly soaps.
