MIND YOUR OWEN BUSINESS

Rick Owens Does the Design District

Say you’re in the market for a $53,925 alligator-leather jacket. First, that’s... specific. Second, you’re in luck: Rick Owens has opened up shop in the Design District. The spot is stocked with his men’s runway collection along with curated selections of his favorite DVDs and books. Spoiler: Judy Blume didn’t make the cut.

Now open, Rick Owens, 3841 NE 2nd Ave, 786-703-2950

Valentine’s-ing in a Museum
HEART ATTACK

Valentine’s-ing in a Museum

Valentine’s and museums. A winning combo since... well, right now. That’s because tonight’s Paper Hearts exhibit has food and cocktails from local restaurants, a live performance by Afrobeta and DJ Hottpants spinning some slow jams. Oh, and apparently art. There’s art.

Friday
All of the Street Art. Here.
BANKSY ON IT

All of the Street Art. Here.

Art. You can find it in just about anything. Good art, well, that’s tougher. But this street-art exhibit/auction at LMNT has the latter covered. You’ll find stuff by Basquiat. Keith Haring. And two Banksy pieces that’ll be up for bid starting at $500,000. Note: bring a bunch of money.

Feb 14-17, 10am-5pm; auction Feb 18, 6pm; LMNT, 59 NW 36th St, 305-573-4228

Sunday
A Week of Whiskey. Plan Accordingly.
DRAM YANKEES

A Week of Whiskey. Plan Accordingly.

What happens when you throw together a bunch of whiskey tastings (stuff like Michter’s, Hibiki, Basil Hayden’s) with tippling pointers from whiskey distillers and the unveiling/tasting of a 30-day-barrel-aged Monkey Shoulder Rusty Nails cocktail into eight glorious days? Your best week ever.

Bulla Has a Paella Night Now

Tuesday nights, Bulla Gastrobar will be dishing up a bunch of paellas. Some’ll have lobster, others vermicelli, and one comes with squid ink and octopus. So the logical thing to do here is to find someone who’s into paella and sangria and bring them along. And eat it. Because, logic.

Tuesdays, 5-11pm, Bulla Gastrobar, 2500 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Coral Gables, 305-441-0107
