Oh, that Banksy.
Convinced the world he’s in New York this month.
Silly world.
See, truth is, he’s right beneath our very noses.
And you’ll find him (sort of) at the Riviera South Beach Hotel, a new 160-room boutique hotel in SoBe with Banksy-created art and its very own Cuban restaurant, taking reservations now.
If you haven’t already booked a spot for Basel, well, you can thank us later. This place is artsy (Banksy worked his magic on the bathroom tiling here), it’s plush (think: silk draperies and tufted-leather furniture), and it’s brand spanking new.
So after you’ve checked into your room—the penthouse suite with a gourmet kitchen, naturally—you’ll want to head to the rooftop sundeck. There you’ll relax on a black daybed by the pool and plan a loose itinerary: easing into the night with a ribeye (convenient: there’s grocery delivery and a personal chef service) before hitting Collins for the evening.
But you could also fuel up at the hotel’s 1950s-Havana-style café, Moreno’s Cuba. You’ll be going in for traditional Cuban plates like rabo encendido (that’s oxtail stew) and roast pork (that’s roast pork). Also, great spot for a stogie and a mojito at the bar.
Although there isn’t really a bad spot for that.
