Things to do for October 10, 2013

The Weekender

Baywatch, French Toast Ice Cream and Beers on Tap

My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my weekend. Prepare to die.

Thursday
100 Bottles of Booze. That’s a Start.
ARTS AND CRAFT

100 Bottles of Booze. That’s a Start.

Drinking. You don’t necessarily need a reason for it. But hey, couldn’t hurt. Enter: the Craft Spirits Festival. It’s tonight in the Grove. And there’ll be liquor. Plenty of it. Like, over 100 different bottles. Oh, and some passed hors d’oeuvres. But again, liquor.

Friday
Wynwood’s New Taproom
TAPPED POTENTIAL

Wynwood’s New Taproom

Wynwood Brewing. You remember those guys. Well, it’s just come to our attention that their taproom’s open for drinking tomorrow. You’ll find their signature brews (Pop’s Porter, La Rubia, Wynwood IPA) along with some of their new seasonal stuff. They’ll pour. You’ll drink. And... that’s basically how it goes.

Saturday
Eating Brunch. In a Museum.
HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF

Eating Brunch. In a Museum.

You usually go to the Wolfsonian for art and artsy-type things. Except this Saturday. That’s when you’ll go for... eggs. See, GastroPod’s Chef Jeremiah will be cooking up brunch. On the menu: french toast ice cream, egg-and-potato tacos and stimulating commentary on Italian interwar design.

Sunday
It’s a Baywatch Pool Party. Naturally.
HYDE AND SEEK

It’s a Baywatch Pool Party. Naturally.

Hey, it’s almost Columbus Day. And naturally, Hyde Beach’s observing it the best way they know how: a pool party. Nay, a Baywatch pool party. Your servers: sporting those iconic red one-pieces. The beach balls: oversize. The lifeguard chair: manned by sexy whistle-blowers. Alert the Hoff.

Wednesday
Drinking Cider at Oak Tavern
APPLE JACK

Drinking Cider at Oak Tavern

Technically, it’s fall. Technically. So maybe you should begin acting like it. Let’s start with cider. Specifically, drinking it. Because on Wednesday, a master sommelier will guide you through a cider pairing with various cheeses, cured meats and spreads from Oak Tavern. The words you’re looking for: “I’m in.”
