Tomorrow night, the New World Center is turning into a bona fide SoBe club. Yup, the Frank Gehry–designed building will be filled with pulsing lights, a thumping DJ and... a live symphony orchestra to accompany the sets. Great if you like your house music with a lot of tuba.
Here’s a good reason to go to Marlins Park: beer. Lots of it. Like a whole festival dedicated to the stuff, with live music, food trucks (Latin Burger, Ms. Cheezious...) and dozens of breweries. Expect locals like Wynwood Brewing Company and Gravity Brewbar... unless they get traded to the Toronto Beer Festival tomorrow.
So Art Deco Weekend starts tomorrow. It’s that weekend... that celebrates art deco... Anyway, this year they’re hosting a 1920s-themed speakeasy party. The location: secret. You’ll have to go to the Art Deco Welcome Center to get the address (and key). Also, you’ll have to really like flappers, caviar and vodka.
