Brunch with Your Dog and Martinis with the Heat

A weekend is a terrible thing to waste.

Thursday
Gratis Cocktailing at Machiya
MACH POINT

Gratis Cocktailing at Machiya

We heard a rumor you were in the market for a cocktail tonight. No need to confirm or deny, just know that Machiya is launching a new after-work drinks thing. This evening, expect a live DJ, passed apps and some gratis Kiwi Lotuses. Which we’re hoping’s a drink.

Mon-Fri, 4-7pm, Machiya, 3250 NE 1st Ave, 786-507-5025

Saturday
Drinking Punch Bowls at 4pm
BOWLED OVER

Drinking Punch Bowls at 4pm

So the DiLido is serving up potent punch bowls spiked with tequila, rum and vodka every Saturday. You could sample a glass for $10... but for $25, you can get your unlimited fill beachside while taking in the last vestiges of sunlight. In this business, we call that a “no-brainer.”

HIT THE ROAD

Happy Centennial, Tobacco Road

Tobacco Road’s having a party. Because it’s been around for 100 years, and that’s reason enough to celebrate. Already RSVP’d: some local bands and rum cocktails. Also, we’ve got a few VIP and general admission passes to give away. Let us know if you’re interested and we’ll see what we can do. Flattery helps.

Sunday
Brunching with Your Pooch
HAIR OF THE DOG

Brunching with Your Pooch

Sunday is Take Your Dog to Brunch Day. Okay, not officially, but hey, Village of Merrick Park is hosting a pup-friendly brunch with Bloody Marys and eggy things from local restaurants. For your dog: free treats and cold water. He’s good for it.

All-Night Partying with the Miami Heat
HEAT WAVE

All-Night Partying with the Miami Heat

Mario Chalmers. Point guard. Proud Alaskan. Also, consummate party planner. This Sunday, he’s hosting a (belated) season-opener extravaganza with martinis, hors d’oeuvres from a Hell’s Kitchen chef and an after-party at Bamboo Nightclub. LeBron is sort of expecting you, so you should probably go.
