Things to do for November 17, 2011
The Weekender
A New French Den of Sin. Plus: Massages...
The weekend clearly has an agenda. And you’re on top of it.
Thursday
Drinking Gratis Champagne at the Setai
A complimentary glass of bubbly: solid. Chasing it with octopus carpaccio or pappardelle with venison ragout: even solid-er. The Grill at the Setai has reopened with a new tapas menu, and every Thursday night they’re pouring you a free glass of Taittinger. The rest of the week, you’re on your own.
Getting Freaky in a French Parlor
So, the High Club. That new French den of iniquity and cocktails in South Beach. Tonight’s their grand-opening bash. They want to celebrate by serving you gratis drinks from 9pm to midnight. It would almost be rude not to go...
Friday
New Pizza in Buena Vista
Prosciutto-laden pies and organic beers. You can never have enough of either. Which is why you’ll be happy to know there’s a new pizza spot adjacent to Lemoni Café (and from the same owners) serving food until midnight every day. Perfect for that 11pm calzone crawl you’ve been planning.
Getting Massaged with a Friend
You don’t need a lot of reasons to schedule a massage. But here’s one anyway: if you spring for a 50-minute treatment at the Acqualina’s spa and bring a stressed-out friend, their session will be half off. Note: this also works for non-stressed friends.
Sunday
Cigars and Wine with Michael Mina
Sunday, you’ll want to be hobnobbing with chef Michael Mina as he hosts this poolside cigar tasting at the Turnberry Isle resort. You’ll get to sample 10 Davidoff stogies while noshing on passed apps and toasting from an open bar. Pour one out for the Dolphins’ defense.
