Beneath the tuxedos, the yachts and the biopics about your life, you’re a simple person.
You like sandwiches and beer.
And if they’re Spanish and cheap, all the better...
So say hello to Cervecería 100 Montaditos, a new Spanish spot in Midtown ready to slide you $2 beers and no fewer than a hundred mini sandwiches, now open.
This is the first American outpost of a popular Madrid-based chain, and you can think of it as your neighborhood sandwich go-to, with the added bonus of Mahou beer (it’s like the Budweiser of Spain).
The game plan: you’ll come in here with a few amigos for lunch or post-work steam-blowing, stake out a table on the patio, grab a paper menu and begin checking off boxes of the sandwiches and beers you’d like to consume. Then, you’ll bring that menu up to the counter, pay and wait for the kitchen to call your name when your order is ready.
Your beers: nine-ounce jars for $2 apiece. Your sandwiches: four-inch subs ($1 to $2.50) that you can order in a hundred combinations. Think tortilla española and sausage; cured ham and manchego; or pulled pork, shrimp and guacamole.
And you’ll definitely want to stop by on Wednesdays, when beers and sandwiches are each $1.
It’s official: Tuesday is the new hump day.
