You know the drill. But next week will come back around. Which is okay.
Mostly because we’ve found a bar respectable enough to be your working-hours, weekday HQ...
Welcome Michael Mina, the slightly more casual, bar-dominated version of the original Union Square outpost, opening Tuesday on California Street.
By taking over the former Aqua space, the new Michael Mina restaurant is bringing the upscale deal-making scene back to the FiDi—only this time with dark walnut tables instead of white tablecloths. Which means you’ll want to add this to your weekday, power-brokering roster.
Because they only open the bar, not the entire restaurant, for lunch (presumably for more efficient access to your cocktail), you might want to set up reservations for a pair of the 20 seats. And in keeping with the slightly more downscale theme, you can get high-end twists on comfort food, like the Foie Gras PB&J or the Japanese Hamburger on a housemade sticky bun.
Which ought to tide you over nicely till next weekend.
